The Archives : The original Bosey.com now available

Actually, they always were, as a nice unobtrusive link tucked away on the sidebar.

But it occured to me that many newer readers may be interested in taking a look at the original site that was the precursor to Son of Bosey.

Cleverly called 'Bosey.com' so that its name would exactly match the URL, the site actually was kinda popular, gaining something of a cult following, back in the day. We were just doing it for kicks, but it excited us no end to see e-mails pouring in form random strangers all over the world, and to see the material get mentioned in the mainstream press.

Those were crazy times, as the many who were involved will probably remember, and it was a terrific experience for many of us as we scrambled to get enough material together to update - usually very drunk, usually in just one night. And Praveen would convert everything into a PDF, for some reason.

Do check the material out. Looking at it now, it actually seems a lot more versatile than the current stuff. Hmmmmm. And let us know your thoughts - perhaps we should re-publish some old faves (and save ourselves some work) ?

Visit the bosey archives.

The archives are hilarious. Chennaites can easily connect with lots of articles like 'systeth', those mentioning tamil stars etc.

Most of what you have mentioned are there for everyone to see, yet we ignore.dont bother. or simply dont see.

who writes the articles and whos ideas are these ? How old are you folk ? what kind of jobs do you do ?

http://bosey.co.in/archive/007/ads.html is still blank :-(

I had been looking for it for a while. I think it is the one on Archie's cards where Venkatesh Prasad appearing with the line "The Joy of Giving" !

Awesome.

Though I've already read all the archives, still awesome. It's like watching restored Monty Python videos. You've already watched all of them, but it's still fun to watch them 'digitally restored.'

Anon 1 - The ideas come from a pool of (mostly intoxicated) talent that includes, but is certainly not limited to worthies such as Kishore Manohar, Aravindh Ramachandran, Vishal Thyagarajan, Aditya Khanna, Aravind Murali, Abitha Anand, Tony Chacko, SUmant Srivatsan, Kumar Chandrasekharan, AV Balasubramanian, Vishwanathan Srinivasan, Visesh Kumar, Vinay Nilakantan, Videep Vijay Kumar and several others. The writing duties are shared by me, Kishore and Vinay.

anon 2 - shite. i'll see if I can dig it up from somewhere.

since we are going all confessional, is this the time to tell your loyal readers who exactly anand ramachandran's evil twin is? will we ever know from son of bosey? or will the identity of the writer remain a mystery forever? :-)

Mac - hahaha. I must admit it does reek of my style. However, it's far funnier than anything I'm capable of - so there's your evidence against ;)

No recycling of articles, please. We are the sort that read the old articles when they first appeared, and then again when the site reappeared courtesy the Fat Phoenix, and again whenever bored at work, and then when not bored at work, and again about 3 hours ago. We conduct yagnas and conduct seances to summon spirits to tell us when the next new post on SoB will appear. So you see, our life more or less depends on newer and funnier posts appearing here - please to kindly oblige. Ok? Ok.

I agree with the above comment.

Since the original archives are available already, there is no point in rehashing them.

I also think that the originals are far more "wackier" and "crazier" than the new articles, which seem more conventional satire which is somewhat loosely based on real life.

Of course, the recent articles on Mortal Kombat had redressed the balance somewhat.

Yes, this is a Papa Hari World Government Sponsored research into Son of Bosey. :-)

Hari - Is Papa Hari related to Mata Hari? Just curious.
